Ideal Protein is working

Writer's picture: C C NuessenC C Nuessen

I started this on Oct 29, 2018. I thought I knew all the ins and outs of dieting but after talking with one person who had lost 75 lbs in 8 months and with my doctor, I decided to take the plunge.

She said it was kinda expensive but well worth it. I agree. $350 to get started isn't exactly chump change in our household. Then you get to try some of their products based on what I told them I liked to eat. OF COURSE, there were no-nos which I really didn't believe I could totally drop. And to be truthful, I still occasionally try a no-no or two and my tummy doesn't like it...so if that's any indication of how you train your body, this is it!

https://idealprotein.com is the site you can review and see what it's all about but I am going to share some things of my new adventure for the past 6 weeks.

1)The first meeting I had to weigh in...get measured and discuss the pros and cons of what I could and couldn't eat. I had been experiencing 300s and 400s glucose readings and punching that ucky needle in my stomach twice a day. We have to be really really honest here...I did not think I could survive it but I wanted to try this one last time.

10/29.2018 My glucose was 367 and this is what I ate:

Ideal Maple Oatmeal

Coffee with splenda and a drip of Ideal Vanilla Shake

Water (lots of water)

Then at lunch I had not checked my glucose but I ate the Ideal Protein Chicken Soup with spinach salad and tomatoes.

WIth dinner, I checked my glucose....are you ready? 108!!!! I did it twice just to make sure. I had Chicken 6 oz, mixed veggies cooked in olive oil, and my snack later was a strawberry wafer,

There are "pills" to take, Multi-Vitamin (2), Omega-3 Plus (2), Potassium (1), and because of dr's orders I couldn't take their Cal-Mag but I took a Mag-Ox at night. The 1/4 Ideal Salt mix and I were heading to some disagreements as I do not enjoy salt.

OH, I weighed in at 189, body fat 36.5, Total Lean Mass 119.8 Measurements: Waist 38, Arm 9.3, Hip 39, Chest 45.5, Thigh 16.3

Dec 4th: Weight 170.8 (my scales), theirs a bit heavier but not by much, body fat 32, Total Lean Mass 108, Measurements: Waist 34, Arm 8.4, Hip 36, Chest 41, Thigh 15.

I am so happy because of this but the most important news is I am off my insulin and one of 3 diabetic meds!! My goal is that on the 20th of Dec, my endocrinologist will agree to take me off the night meds and possible no meds which would be absolutely wonderful.

I have learned a few things. First, sugar makes you hurt/ache. Believe me as that was all I did every day until I started on this program. (NOTE: I have a new prescription of pain meds and haven't taken one of them since I began!!) Second, the pancreas regenerates itself if you give it a "rest". Third, I sometimes CANNOT eat 4 cups of vegetables nor 8 oz of meat!! But I do the best that I can. Fourth, I am buying some 10 and 8 pants for the first time in almost 20 years. I also have to give away my 16, 14, 12 and my 2x items. I feel like it's in God's hand to continue on this path.

I enjoyed my doctor telling me I was no longer on the obese notification but now just over-weight!!

I'm gonna take a few pics and post them later. I want H to get on this so he can get off his insulin as well. I wish everyone a beautiful and blessed day!
